Pool Opening & Closing in Kelowna

Spring openings and fall closings are the two jobs every Okanagan pool needs each year. Done right, they protect the equipment from freezing and get the water clear fast.

Opening and closing cost in Kelowna

Openings and closings typically run about $250–$800 per visit, depending on the pool size, type and condition (HomeStars Kelowna pool company guide). These are general ranges, not quotes.

What's included

  • Opening: remove and clean the cover, reconnect and start the pump and filter, check for leaks, and balance the water.
  • Closing: lower the water, blow out and plug the lines, add winter chemicals, and install the cover.

Skipping the line blow-out at closing is the most common reason pipes crack over an Okanagan winter.

When to book

Openings are busiest from April to May, and closings from September to October. Booking a few weeks ahead gets you the date you want.

Common questions

Do you open and close above-ground pools?

Yes, both in-ground and above-ground pools.

My pool turned green over the winter. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes. A green opening takes more chemical treatment and filter time, so let us know when you book.

Tell us your pool type and size and the week you want, and we will get you booked. (250) 999-3602
